Getting outside, breathing fresh air, and moving my body are among my favorite ways to connect with nature and take in incredible views. There’s nothing quite like reaching the end of a trail and soaking up the beauty around you, knowing every step was worth it. Looking back, 2024 was an amazing year for hiking—I explored unforgettable trails and saw breathtaking scenery, from sweeping landscapes to hidden gems.
Now that 2025 is here, I’ve reflected on my favorite hikes from last year. These trails challenged and inspired me, and deepened my love for the outdoors. Whether you’re planning your next adventure or just enjoy hearing about beautiful trails, I hope these highlights from 2024 spark a little inspiration!
The Narrows
My favorite hike this year was, without a doubt, The Narrows in Zion National Park! I had the chance to hike it twice this summer, once in early summer and again later in the season. Even though both hikes were during the same time of year, they felt like completely different experiences because of the varying conditions and the groups I hiked with.

What I loved most about The Narrows was trekking through the slot canyon, with its towering red rock walls and incredible views around every turn. There’s something magical about being surrounded by such raw, natural beauty—it’s a hike that truly takes your breath away.
The Narrows is one of Zion’s most popular hikes, and it’s easy to see why. The scenery is stunning, but the hike itself is no walk in the park. You’re constantly wading through the Virgin River, often up to your calves or even deeper, navigating slippery rocks and uneven terrain. It’s a challenge, for sure, and I’ve known many people who get injured, so being cautious is key.

Despite the challenges, this hike is 100% worth it. The sense of adventure and the incredible views make it unforgettable. If you haven’t done it yet, I highly recommend adding it to your bucket list!
Mid Mountain Trail
In the mountains of Park City, I discovered a hike that quickly became my favorite of the trip. Tucked in the heart of the forest, it was the perfect chance to connect with nature. Surrounded by tall pines and the sounds of the forest, every step felt like a peaceful escape.

The trail opened up to stunning views of the valley below—rolling hills, the town of Park City, and miles of green in every direction. The hike had the right balance of challenge and serenity, with every climb rewarding us with breathtaking views and a sense of calm.
Of all the trails we explored in Park City, this one was definitely the highlight. It had everything I love about hiking—amazing views, the chance to connect with nature, and that peaceful feeling that comes from being out in the wild. If you’re in Park City, this hike is a must!

Cable Mountain
This hike in Zion National Park offers some truly incredible views. The steep inclines may be challenging, but the payoff at the end is absolutely worth it. The overlook at the top provides an awe-inspiring view of the entire Zion Canyon. From there, you can even look down on the famous Angels Landing trail, and if you’re lucky, you might spot hikers making their way up that iconic route.

One of the coolest aspects of this hike is the history you’ll encounter at the top. Near the overlook, you’ll find the remnants of old cables that were once used to transport goods up the canyon. It’s amazing to think about how people navigated the area in the past, adding an extra layer of appreciation to the stunning surroundings. If you’re looking for a unique perspective of Zion, this is a hike you have to try!

Red Mountain Trail
This hike in Snow Canyon is amazing, especially because you’re walking on the red rocks the entire time. The vibrant red sandstone against the desert backdrop makes for some stunning views every step of the way. The highlight of the hike is the overlook of Snow Canyon State Park—it’s absolutely breathtaking and gives you a whole new appreciation for the area.

What makes this hike even better is that it’s dog-friendly, so you can bring your furry friend along for the adventure. It’s a fun and rewarding hike with beautiful scenery, and having your dog with you just makes it that much more special. If you’re looking for a great hike in Snow Canyon, this one is definitely worth checking out!

These were my top picks for 2024, and I’m already looking forward to what 2025 has in store! I’ve got some big plans to do even more hiking this year, including a challenge to complete 25 hikes in 2025. I’m so excited to see where the trails will take me and can’t wait to share those adventures with you. Here’s to another year of exploring, discovering new views, and embracing everything the outdoors has to offer! Stay tuned—I’m excited to bring you along for the journey!
Stay safe and start exploring!
